The resurrection of Christ is essential to what we believe as Christians. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:14, 17 –
“… if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty… if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.”
Why? The whole purpose of Christ’s death and resurrection was to conquer the grave and obtain forgiveness for sin so that we can have relationship with God. Without this, we have no hope, no assurance of life, and no purpose in our faith.
THINK: What evidence do we have for the resurrection of Christ? What is the significance of Christ’s resurrection for our lives?
SOME THOUGHTS:

In the end, the resurrection of Christ requires faith. Do you believe that the Son of God died, AND rose again to cleanse us of sin and restore us to relationship with the Father? Belief in the resurrection of Christ is life-transforming.
[Colossians 3:1-3] – “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
